FR. ALEXANDER WOLFE MURRAY'S CHURCH BELIEVES THAT ROY TAYLOR IS A PROPHET PAGE ONE"

But, let's go on. Satan, (the Adversary) accused the Lord of protecting His servant Job. So the Lord allows the Adversary of Job free reign to smite Job without retribution. Now remember the fact here that Job was an Israelite. The Adversary knew if he vexed Job without the Lord's permission that he would be cursed. This goes back to God's blessing to Abram, that: "And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee."(Gen.12:3)

So, with the Lord's permission the Satan (Adversary) begins to afflict Job. The first affliction came when the Sabeans (v.15) fell on Job's herds, and slew his servants tending them. One of Job's servants escaped and told Job. While he was yet speaking, there came also another, and said: "The Fire of God is fallen from heaven, and hath burned up the sheep, and the servants and consumed them; and I only escaped alone to tell thee."

Notice here it was the fire of God that fell! Next, in verse 17, the Chaldeans came and took his camels, slaying more of his servants. Then in verse 19, we read the report of another servant: " And, behold, there came a great wind from the wilderness, and smote the four corners of the house, and it fell upon the young men, and they are dead; and I only am escaped."

Now then, What did Job do?

"Then Job arose, and rent his mantle, and shaved his head, and fell down upon the ground, and worshipped, and said, Naked came I out of my mother's womb, and naked shall I return thither: the Lord gave, and the Lord hath taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord. In all this Job sinned not, nor charged God foolishly." (v.20-22)

Job knew exactly who had caused his problem. It wasn't "Satan" but God! Now this fact is admitted by the Lord in ch. 2. Satan came again with the sons of God before the Lord. After a repetition of the formalities we read of in Chapter 1, the Lord asked the Adversary if he had observed that Job had kept his integrity.

"although thou movedst me against him, to destroy him without cause." (Job 2:3)

So, from the mouth of the Lord we can see who it was that allowed and even caused Job's troubles. Another thing we can derive from this conversation is that Job's Adversary was also a member of his household! Probably a servant who could observe Job's reactions to his plight. Satan, (the Adversary) then said that the Lord had not gone far enough. If He would only: "But put forth thine hand now, and touch his bone and his flesh, and he will curse thee to thy face."(v.5)

Whose hand was "Satan" asking for to vex Job? If you missed it read it again.(v.5) Yes, Satan (or the Adversary) asked for, and got, permission from the Lord to inflict boils on Job's body. Just how this was done we're not told, but we know that boils are caused by bacteria entering into the hair follicles of the sebaceous glands. White blood cells attack the bacteria and liquefied puss forms on the infected regions. Medical science knows today that poor nutrition is a major cause of these conditions. (Source-Ency. And Dictionary of Medicine and Nursing. W.B. Sanders Co. 1972)

Knowing this, is it not possible that Job's boils were, in large part, caused by his faulty diet? Perhaps given to him by an "adverse" servant? Or could it be that he began an extended fast and lamenting period, in sackcloth and ashes? This was common in those days and could have been the source of the bacteria entering his hair follicles. At any rate Job was afflicted with boils.(See Job 2) "And he took him a potsherd to scrape himself withal; and he sat down among the ashes."

And finally, part of verse 11, when Job's friends became reconciled with him: "…and comforted him over all the evil that the Lord had brought upon him."

Now, my friend, Job's friends were corrected of their error, for they had told him that his punishment had come about because of his sin and his crafty tongue, which didn't know what he was talking about, when Job identified God as causing his problems. The question I have for you, my Christian friend, is this: Will you believe Job? Or will you have to be corrected by God. The lesson in Job practically leaps out of the book. Let's heed it!

(End Quoting from The Two Creations-App. E)

Your next reference is to a Satan in Zechariah 3: 1-2. This is one of the last OT references to this "fallen angel." In seeing what Sheldon Emry had to say about this incident in his book "Give the Devil His Due", Emry noted that this particular "sawtawn" or Adversary, said nothing! It simply stood there alongside Joshua in this vision given to Zechariah by God. Yet, Emry did not go back to the verses preceding these to find out why God showed Zechariah a "silent" Adversary.

When we consider several previous verses in Zech.2:11-13, we might just find out why this vision was shown as it was to Zechariah. Here are those verses that precede that 'silent' Satan.

"And many nations shall be joined to the Lord in that day, and shall be my people; and I will dwell in the midst of thee, and thou shalt know that the Lord of hosts hath sent me unto thee. And the Lord shall inherit Judah his portion in the holy land, and shall choose Jerusalem again. Be silent, O all flesh, before the Lord: for he is raised up, out of his holy habititation."

What God did by showing this sawtawn or adversary to the High Priest, Joshua, who himself was standing before the angel of the Lord; represents "Israel" as Joshua and the silent Adversary or Satan is representative of "Flesh", unable to talk, but present alongside Joshua as his "Adversary." Then, in verse three, it shows that Joshua was "clothed with filthy garments." That should tell us what was standing beside Joshua, as representative of his outer self, and it confirms that cloaking our flesh in rags, so to speak, does appear as our fleshly adversary.

Because it is our 'flesh' which is the source of our sins! Not some alien entity that does not exist except in the confusion of doctrines that came from ancient "traditions." It is our own 'flesh' that is the basis of sin and the true "Adversary" to our failure to follow the Laws of God. Flesh is found to be the troubles from the very outset, as we find it being the cause for Eve's troubles.

Lets look at Genesis 3:6 to see exactly what in her flesh led to her downfall:

"And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her: and he did eat."

Following words from: "The Two Creations-Appendix C" Eve's Temptation Quoting>

Then we can find these same lusts of the flesh outlined in more detail in 1 John 2:16: "For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world."

So, here we can see what Eve was also subjected to: The lust of the flesh was her hunger for food. The lust of the eyes was that the tree was pleasant to her sight, and the Pride of Life was her desire to be wise.

Then, in added confirmation, these same three temptations were also laid upon Jesus' flesh! We can see then, that Jesus was the counterpart of Eve. He had a heavenly Father (or creator) like Eve, and also a fleshly mother (Mary), of whom Adam was counterpart to Eve, ie, a mother.

These Temptations of Jesus are recorded in Luke 4: 1-13:

1.The lust of the flesh-to turn stones to bread.

2.The lust of the eyes-to look and desire to rule over all the kingdoms of the world.

3 The pride of life-the temptation to leap from the pinnacle to prove that His favor with Yahovah would save Him from His own foolishness.

The record is so clear, and so beautiful on this point, that it actually boggles the mind how the Lord has "hidden" it for so long. Praise ye the Lord, that it is now revealed.

Now that we know that Yahovah's Spirit cannot be tempted without the introduction of the "flesh" factor, what does this do with the theory of the "fallen angels?" Well, as you can see, it destroys it completely!! The angels, like the Godhead, are spirit. And as spirit they are not subject to the three lusts of the flesh!

While it is true that God has sent angels to appear in flesh bodies (Heb.13:2), 'they' always come in this form to do the Lord's will. The bodies they are given to appear in, are never "born of the flesh" but of the Spirit! This is why the angels are sterile (Matt.22:30). And why the children of the resurrection will also be sterile. (Luke 20:34-36) This is why those that are "reborn" of the Spirit are not subject to sin, nor can be (Rom.8:5-14)

Perhaps now you can see why Yahovah had to introduce the "flesh factor" into Adamic man. Without the 'lust of sex" there would be no Adamites born!

David wrote: "Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me. (Ps.51:5) Now we know that David was not a bastard! He was the youngest son of Jesse's eight sons (1Sam.17:12-14). Knowing this, we can determine that marriage vows don't sanctify the act of intercourse. Spiritually speaking, sex is a "lust of the flesh" as David has said. Of course, this pertains only to Adamites, because pre-Adamites were commanded to have children (Gen.1:28). Adamic children are born as a result of Adam and Eve's sin. Therefore, Adamic children are a product of sin.

When we being to understand the awesome implication of this truth, we can faintly comprehend what predestination means (Eph.1:4-14). In verse 4, of this chapter we read: "Accordingly as He hath chosen us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love."

So, if we are chosen before the foundation of the world, we can readily see that the fall had to take place to bring forth His children (v.5) Another startling fact that these verses reveal is that the choice of predestination is the Lord's, not ours!

Now that we know this truth, a whole new vista opens up for us. There's a popular misconception rattling around in the churches today that maintains that "man" is the one who "makes the choice" to serve God! If you study this doctrine out in the Bible, you'll discover that this is not true! The one doing the "Choosing" is the Lord!

Throughout the Old Testament it was always and forever the Lord who made the choice as to whom He selected to represent Him. Abram was called out of Ur of the Chaldees (Babylon) to serve the Lord (Gen.12:1). Isaac was chosen over Ishmael to carry on the seedline of Abraham (Gen.21:12). Jacob was selected over his twin brother Esau at the discretion of the Lord (Gen.25:23 and Rom.9:10-14). All the Old Testament prophets and deliverers were also chosen by election of God's grace. Many complained about being Chosen, including Moses, (Ex.4:10) Gideon, (Jud.6:15), Jeremiah 1:4-6) etc. Even Jesus' disciples were chosen by Him in John 15:16: "Ye have not chosen Me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye shall go and bring forth fruit."

So, it's evident from this, and numerous other Bible verses, that the choice is the Lord's --not Man's !! (End quoting from "The Two Creations.")

Jack, I have gone on much longer then I had planned for my answer to your note. There is one more aspect that needs to be pointed out that confirms the deceit of the early translators. That is their failure to be consistent in word use. Whenever the Hebrew word Sawtawn appeared, the translators converted it to Satan. Yet, when the came to verses that referred to a "plural" Sawtawn, they were confronted with a problem: for to tell their Parishioners that more then one Satan existed, would open them up to serious doubt and questions. How to justify more then one Satan!

So, whenever this situation arose, these translators simply had to do the right thing, they used the word "Adversaries!" Plural! Unable to disguise the original intent or hidetheir deceit.

The other Biblical references you mentioned that use Satan as some formal being require more comment, but I think that these pages are sufficient for the OT consideration. .But, lets go into one from the New Testament, your reference to Jesus "watching" Satan fall from heaven." (Luke 10:18)

Once again, by using one word or one verse to establish doctrine and fact, is to take the thought out of context and make it applicable to something far different. So, we need to look at the whole "picture" associated with that one verse that so many use to "prove" that Jesus was watching Satan fall to the ground and thus proving that Jesus too, accepted the existence of a fallen angel.

Here, in Luke 10, we find that the seventy "missionaries" that Jesus had sent out earlier, without shoes, knapsack or money, are returning and are overjoyed at how their mission went, stating to Jesus, "…even the 'devil's are subject unto us through thy name."

These men are so proud of their accomplishments in curing the sick and otherwise overcoming evil that they could not wait to tell Him-excited at their success. What Jesus does, is answer their attitude by confirming to them that their trip had been a success, and the He had actually "seen" their "Adversaries" fall to the ground in shock, so to speak, like lightning flashing to the ground. This is simply a figure of speech that shows that Jesus saw them being successful; victorious over evil elements and sickness.

Lamsa has comments on this verse that are well worth reading. If you have his Gospel Light, Lamsa, p. 264 I suggest reading it.

Also, suggest reading Adam Clarke's comments on this single verse to see that he too uses other verses to confirm that there is a far greater meaning in this verse, as it shows the fall of idolatry in the Gentile world.. The first outreach of His Chosen.

We can see that the translators did their thing in misconstruing our Doctrines, and many fail to see that it is our own Flesh that leads to sin -not some alien entity who never did exist. We are our own worst enemy and it is our Flesh that we have to overcome. Jesus was faced with the same temptations as Eve, and so are we.

"Every man is tempted when he is drawn of his own lust (not by some fallen angel) and enticed. Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin…" (James 1:14-15)

While we do know that originally, sin was induced by temptation from without, to Eve from the hissing or whispering of the most subtil beast of the field, since then, its strongest impulses have been stimulated from within ourselves. That inherited quality that we must overcome. The natural thoughts and inclinations of the flesh must be disciplined if we are to please God. They form what Paul describes as "the law of sin in our members." (Rom.7:23) Then Paul also notes this: "If ye live after the flesh, ye shall die; but if ye, through the spirit do mortify the deeds of the body ye shall live." (Rom.8:13)

So, until we all realize just what is sin and what causes it, some will continue to seek to blame some alien being, some foreign entity, much like the goat that God gave the early Israelites when they needed that real scapegoat to absolve themselves of sin, a tactic that Christ replaced, and to assume that there is some alien entity to shift blame upon since Christ's sacrifice, removes that act, the sacrifice of Jesus from being the saving of ourselves…

From all of these examples, is it now quite evident that the great ancient serpent called the accuser and the adversary is not some supernatural spirit abounding with power and at odds with God, as some churches are promoting.

Rather, we must realize that our flesh is our personal adversary and that there also exists an adversarial combine or organization of humans who claim special powers and special relationship with God that is clearly at odds with what the Word has to say -opposed to God and His Truth.

When these "People," these Adversaries are bound for that 1000 years, the world will finally be able to see this as true…And the words of Jesus in Matthew 13 that apply to the "Tares" will also apply-to identify these in an adversarial status to ourselves today!

I still remain eternally Thankful to have been Chosen.

Sincerely, Dick…
